Here
are some of the different plants that I've been able
to grow. I've killed quite a few, also. This South-East
Texas climate is demanding and, like many Britons,
I gave some of our traditional ones a go. Most of them
went!
Sadly,
lilac, rhubarb, raspberries and asparagus didn't make
it. The plums were good for several years but then
they croaked.
Tomatoes
and cucumbers have done well, but, provided I move their
location every few years.
Roses
do struggle but I keep trying to have some of them
around. Currently, Souvenir de Ste Anne, Cecile Brunner,
David Austen’s Marie Rose and Duke are flourishing.
My gingers, angel trumpets, pansies, coreopsis, and
geraniums are great, as are the wistarias. The
waterlilies are fine but the lotus will not bloom.
