We
bred Auted's Dragonlady (Lizzie) to Treceder Imprint
and she had a litter of eight puppies which included some really
good ones. We weren't
able to get them into show homes and we wound up keeping three
of them.
After Ted and
I split, I moved to a new place with the dogs. I'd had
a six foot cedar fence installed around the back yard. As I
worked in the front yard, some neighbourhood children rushed
down the driveway. To my amazement, they flung open the gate
and the dogs came out. (I'd not known how that press-and-slide
latch worked). A six year old boy was bitten on his legs.
This was a terrible introduction to my new neighbours. I vowed to rehabilitate the Boxers and started their CD training.
Eventually, each of the dogs involved earned their CD.
They were Lizzie
(Auted's Dragonlady CD), Herk (Auted's Pendragon
CD), Plum (Auted's Dragonmaid CD) and Wig (Auted's
Dragonstar CD). The dragons they were !
Lizzie died
at eleven of probable screw worm infestation (a cattle parasite,
now it's practically eradicated in Texas). Herk was
sacrificed at age 13 after strokes, Plum and Wig were sacrificed
at age ten. Plum had progressive paralysis and Wig refused
to eat.
Auted's
Silver Dragonflame (Chuckie) who'd gone to Margie & John
Hemery died of a cancer at age eleven.
Auted's
Dragonflash (Emly) died young of nephritis, secondary to leptospirosis.
